Whitworth seniors, graduating in spring of 2023, may face a harder time securing a job offer within the first few months of graduation than previous years’ graduating classes. According to the Wall Street Journal, many big companies are less likely to hire students fresh out of college compared to previous years. This year’s seniors also face the impact of the COVID-19 echo, which may render them less prepared for the workforce. Tracy Mouser, director of the Center for Career and Professional Development, says seniors can prepare for the job market by ensuring their resumes, cover letters and interview skills are polished and ready.
