The Whitworth men’s and women’s swim teams were busy during the past month and a half, competing and performing exceptionally well in four different meets.
On Dec. 30, Whitworth was at the California Lutheran Winter Invitational in Thousand Oaks, California. The men finished first of four teams, while the women were second of four teams.
The two squads also had dominating wins at Willamette University, as the men won 150-38 while the women handed the Bearcats a 153.5-42.5 loss.
The following day both teams handled the competition at Linfield College. The men’s team earned a 152-52 win, and the women claimed a 141-64 victory.
Due to bad winter weather, matches against the University of Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran University were cancelled.
On Jan. 28, both squads prevailed in a double-dual meet against Puget Sound and Whitman College.
The men’s team defeated Whitman 69-53, and Puget Sound 82-40. The women had a 66-45 victory over Whitman, and a 68-54 win over Puget Sound.
Those meets preceded the Northwest Conference Championships that happened this past weekend in Federal Way, Wash.
