A collection of Broadway shows will be available for attendance in Spokane this holiday season, and students can take advantage of discounted tickets. Independent Broadway production presenter WestCoast Entertainment hopes to “bring incredible productions to the Northwest, inspiring our audience and community through performing art.”
Among the productions being brought to Spokane, a select group are eligible for a special discount known as “Student Rush.” The Student Rush program allows students with valid student identification to purchase same-day tickets at a reduced price. In order to take advantage of the Student Rush discount, students can visit the box office as early as two hours before the show of choice. Tickets are available for eligible students at a rate of $25.00 per ticket unless otherwise specified. At this time, these discounted tickets are only available for purchase in person at the First Interstate Center for the Arts box office.
This year’s holiday season lineup for Broadway Spokane includes a variety of shows eligible for Student Rush pricing. Shows include “Come from Away” (November 1st through 3rd), “Shrek the Musical” (November 15th through 16th), “Mannheim Steamroller Christmas” by Chip Davis (November 21st), “Hadestown” (December 21st through 22nd) and finally “Beetlejuice” (December 31st through January 5th). Some 2025 performances are already listed as well, such as “Riverdance 30 – The New Generation” and “The Book of Mormon.” All of these performances will be held at the First Interstate Center for the Arts, located in downtown Spokane. Some shows have multiple showings per day, so there are multiple opportunities to get discounted tickets.
Students interested in taking advantage of the Student Rush discount should be aware of Broadway Spokane’s ticketing policies. There is a limit of two tickets per purchasing student, however the second ticket may be used for any companion, regardless of student status. Seating placements are determined on a first come, first serve basis, so students are encouraged to arrive earlier in the two hour window in order to secure the best seats.
