Whitworth University’s Associated Students of Whitworth University (ASWU) is moving forward with its planned events, despite an adjustment to the Board of Trustees’ visit. Originally scheduled for April 9-11, the visit has been rescheduled to April 22-27. While this briefly created uncertainty around ASWU’s event schedule, it has now been confirmed that all student events will proceed as originally planned.
The date change for the Board of Trustees’ visit was made for several reasons. One key factor was the financial resolutions for the first quarter, which will end on March 31, 2025. Additional time was needed to finalize these decisions, making April 22 a more practical choice than April 9. Additionally, some board members could have been affected by spring break at Mead High School, where many of their children attend, as families often plan trips during that time. Moving the visit to late April helped ensure full participation.
Despite initial concerns about potential event changes, ASWU has confirmed that all scheduled events remain unchanged. Todd Sandberg, assistant dean of Student Life Programs, reassured students that after working through scheduling considerations, everything is set to continue as planned.
“Springfest was the only event that was initially uncertain, but we received approval from the President’s Office to hold it at the originally planned time,” Sandberg shared. “Other events like the Jubilation Dance and the Annual Yard Sale were potential to change, but they will also take place as scheduled.”
