With play beginning the final weekend of February, the Lady Pirates Lacrosse team had a victorious season opening weekend against both George Fox and Willamette.
“This is our seventh year as a program, and it’s been incredible to see the growth of the program and how hard the players have worked over the years to bring it to this point,” said head coach Noelle Brouillard. “This team cares for each other so well, and I can’t wait to see what they do together when they believe.”
With Addie Stouder, an offensive coordinator, having returned to the Pirates’ staff alongside Holly Whitman, a defensive coach, Brouillard says continued ideas and growth remain constant.
“Our first game of the season, we put up the best score we’ve ever had against George Fox and just had an undefeated weekend at home. We’ve just had a lot of fun seeing all our hard work pay off in these first couple [of] game weekends,” said junior Megan Whitman.
When asked about the overall sentiment of the team regarding the 2025 season so far and to come, Whitman said, “Hyped. Every day we instill more and more belief into each other. We call it our ‘belief bank’. I feel like we have so much belief in ourselves and this team already and this is just the beginning!”
The Lady Pirates seek to focus, this season, solely on themselves as a team,” We’re not focusing on other teams; we’re building up that belief in each other and in ourselves in order to play our game and accomplish our goals,” said Whitman.
“There’s so much love on this team, and I think we’re all just so grateful of each other and of our amazing coaches that we get to play the sport we love with the people we love.”
The Lady Pirates played next on March 15 at home against Whitman.
