Running from April 8 until May 17, the Bryan Oliver Gallery in Lied is displaying the 2025 Senior Art & Design Exhibit: “Pieced Together.” The exhibit is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Displaying work from fourteen art and graphic design seniors, with an official opening ceremony taking place on Tuesday, April 15. This reception will give the artists the opportunity to discuss their work with an audience.
The senior exhibition is an annual event that showcases graduating seniors’ artwork and works “to recap the whole four years of college,” said Erdembileg “Erka” Altanzul, one of the seniors with art on display.
The timeline for these projects varies student to student, with some artists beginning work on their projects during the fall of 2024, like Abby Sanders, who started this past January on her series of paintings. Others began the creative process closer to the exhibition, especially artists working with mediums that require more time in between steps. Nolan Bentz began making ceramic mugs in December.

The display showcases a variety of different art mediums, including ceramics, painting and collages, all in the same exhibit. Each student has the opportunity to choose which medium they will showcase. “People are drawn to [different] mediums because they just help them express themselves better,” Bentz explained.
Bella Friedman reflected, “I have been thinking about this since I signed up for the major.” For her, this moment is “bittersweet” as she wraps up her education at Whitworth.
Hannah Foster added that since they installed the exhibit on April 8, for her, “it feels like everything has built up to this” to have her work on display.
Bentz also said, “Seeing it in the gallery made it feel like […] I’m officially an artist.”
