The men’s basketball team got out to an early lead and never looked back on the visiting Linfield Wildcats, on the way to their eleventh conference win, 91-59. The win, coupled with a Whitman loss, gives the Pirates a two-game lead over the Missionaries in the conference standings.
While the starters took control of the game in opening minutes taking a 20-8 lead, the bench did their part in the win as 15 players recorded points for the Pirates, with five of them in double figures. Senior point guard Dustin McConnell and freshman guard Kenny Love lead the way with 11 points and two assists apiece. Sophomore forward George Valle also pitched in 11 points to go with six rebounds and freshman forward Christian Jurlina added 10 points and eight rebounds.
