This year marks the fifth anniversary of a day set aside for giving. Just last year, the fundraising event was named One Pine Day, alluding to the 1963 song, “One Fine Day,” made famous by the The Chiffons.
The sounds of One Direction, Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift resonated throughout the halls of Weyerhaeuser for the annual Awkward Middle School Dance on the evening of March 1.
“I had a falling out with a friend and it’s been awkward ever since. But recently we’ve been trying out the friendship again. It’s still awkward. Help.”
It’s time once again for the biggest star-powered show in Hollywood, the same one that often finds a way to flounder its valiant attempt to represent the year in cinema.
In preparation for Valentine’s day, the Whitworth music department combined the voices of the Whitworth Choir and the Whitworth Women’s Choir in their Music for Valentine’s Dayconcert.
“Washington D.C. is a fantastic city even without the Smithsonian… there is so much culture and diversity in that city that I think most people don’t have time or don’t take time to experience,” said Putzke. “I think that was a great pro for all of us, we came away seeing it from a different view.”
