Come and abide at Meno

Students will be heading up on the Meno retreat next Thursday for two days of worship, rest, good food and hopefully, fresh snow.

Meno, in Greek, means “to abide.” The focus of the getaway is to simply be together. It is an opportunity for students to hang out before the onslaught of the new semester hits. There will be time spent studying the Psalms together and worshipping.

“It will be a relaxed time, which kids have the need for,” sophomore David Rurik said.

The group will be staying at Bear Paw Camp in Newport, Wash., where students can get their fill of ping pong, foosball, pool and board games.

On Friday, students can choose to go up to 49 Degrees North for skiing and boarding.

The cost for Meno is $25, or $50 for both the camp fee and a lift ticket. The retreat leaves at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24 and returns midday on Saturday, still leaving most of the weekend for students to continue relaxing on campus.

A table for sign-ups will be set up at dinner every night until the last day to sign up on Wednesday, Feb. 23.

Rurik strongly encourages everyone to come and says he hopes Meno will become an annual tradition.
